RE: Okay, then in the spirit of fair game...

Presto, what you call the "audiophile credo" is more like the "audiophool credo". If a computer plays music well when that's all it's asked to do, what's the big deal? If the playback degrades slightly when the computer is being asked to do something else at the same time, why is this a problem?

Are you suggesting two separate systems, one to evaluate potential purchases and another to playback audiophile approved material in an "approved" fashion? This seems appropriate for audiophools, but not music lovers.
