Processes just sitting there "doing nothing" also negatively affect sound quality....I Agree!!

Although they have yet to be put into action they still have a IRQ interrupt schedule. Its best to just kill any and all processes that are not needed for either the OS to run or not needed for audio.

The great thing about Linux is that you can easily 'map' a portion of your memory for an individual process so no memory sharing takes place. This along with assigning a specific core for the audio process to run on by itself and adjusting priorities does wonders.
