Hello I run Vista as well. I found that the ASIO freeware drivers aren't needed. The Vista USB audio driver takes exclusive control. From what I can tell the ASIO freeware drivers are disconnected when playing Foobar or Winamp by way DS:USB output through Vista. Not sure but it looks like the Vista does the direct thing all by itself. The generic ASIOs do not have any effect accept giving you a remote control of the buffer settings and such.I agree it is EXTREMELY clear. The recordings that are recorded well sound AWESOME. The ones that are not sound worse!lol I have no experience with Bobcat. Sounds like a nice DSP to try.
I'm waiting to get the updated Vista ASIO-USB driver(since I already paid for the XP version). I would also like to hear if it changes the sound any. I'm not sure if it can get more direct than it already is though.
Good listening
