I have a nice pair of gold-faced M-50s that are original (circuit board and power transformers) except for added V-Caps and a couple of replaced power caps.
I have speakers that seems to work well with a variety of amps, but the M-50 is still the only amp I have owned that seems to work with just about any speaker (especially when teamed with the Speltz Autoformer). Magnepan, Tekton, Quad, Tannoy, Shahinian - you name it, it sounds great.
Case in point.
I just picked up a pair of Tannoy CPA15. Something missing with my Dynaco MK III (with KT90s) and McIntosh SS amp (MC2100), but the full package is there with the M-50s.
Perfectly happy the way they are - as long as they keep running there is no need to mess with any of the "upgrades".
