Circlotron with Cathode Feedback

After some years of more conventional tube DYI I have decided to come back to OTL again.

This year I hope to build this cathode feedback OTL (based on the revisit of a past study, see http://www.audioasylum.com/cgi/vt.mpl?f=otl&m=33926).

Sims look attractive (see calculated current spectra @ 500 mA and @ 1A peak current, 330 Hz, 8 Ohm load).

Even with only 1200 microF capacitors the output hum appears negligible.

It is worth to note that in case of ideal HT voltage the IM lines would vanish and the third harmonic would go about 15 dB up.

This implies that this topology appears somewhat optimal, as with any practical power supply the IM power is evenly distributed on many spectral lines (i.e. more noise like) instead of being concentrated in the third harmonic, as usual with circlotron.
