You can adjust the DC offset pretty much any time you like, but the amp needs to be warmed up and otherwise settled if you want the adjustment to hold. I think this should be a fairly intuitive concept.

If it's a fresh set-up, check & adjust the DC immediately after power-on, then touch it up again in a couple of minutes; it will move around, a bit.

After that, it's up to you. I'd re-check it in a couple of hours, just to be sure nothing has gone wrong.. you can do it on your own schedule.
