RE: Atma-Sphere S30 with a passive pre-amp

I am reading all your feed-back with great interest.

We had some issues with a passive pre-amp, a very simple one with two PEC pots (100K value). Although very transparent, we had problem with some ground noise.

Another passive gave us the exact same result. A ground noise.

We are considering building a new one to see what happens. Not a TVC for the moment, we may use a ladder.

I am not the technical guy here, just the listener. Can you tell me what do you think of using a ladder in that context?

The source is a Micromega Stage IV (2V out), the amp is the S30 (100K input), the IC between the pre and the amp are short and good, the IC between the source and the pre are average (old Monster Cable).
