To begin with, the Transcendent is a modified Futterman-type amplifier, so-called because it uses a "totem pole" output stage topology patented by Julius Futterman but with certain improvements. You might consult the Transcendent website for further details. Futterman amps are single-ended push-pull. The Atma-sphere amplifiers all use circlotron output stages. The circlotron is inherently a balanced PP stage. All Atmas are circlotrons, but not all circlotrons are Atmas. The Atma-sphere amps also use balanced differential input and driver stages. This is not essential for a circlotron output stage, but it's a very good way to go to achieve a fully balanced design, input to output.
