Don't let Ralph fool you. The 300b is a magic tube. The 300b is very linear. The 6as7g is not. The 2a3 and the 45 are even better than the 300b but lower in power.

Direct heated power tubes have the least distortion of any other tube ever made.

Do some reading of Lynn Olson, you will learn a lot.
