Tre, its really pretty easy. We had built the amplifier, so it was easy enough to place it side by side with an M-60. In fact Peter Moncrief and Harvey Rosenburg both auditioned the differences in our room at CES, as we had the amplifier there. They heard the same things we did; Harvey thought we should stay quiet about the perceptual differences as he thought a 300b OTL would 'cash in' on the 'magic' of the 300b very nicely. Not being a marketeer, I thought it better if we just stuck with what worked.
We operate closer to the left of the chart where linearity is higher. If you can find a copy of the curves that Svetlana USA produced, you will see extensions that do not exist in the old RCA data. You might try building the 300b circuit yourself- the first thing you will notice is that its operation is *not* intuitive!
