I liken their effect to that of a good amp/speaker match. There just seems to be this "I've got the situation under control" aspect to their performance. I haven't tried a lot of cords because these simply get the job done and I am quite satisfied. I am using an older version and can't tell you much about the new version other than that it is more expensive and probably better knowing the efforts the designer goes to.
