Why using OTL if you need extra transformer to match impedance ?
I use my OTL monoblocks with Quad ESL-57 without any problem. It is a 16 Ohm speaker. Formerly I had ESL-63 (8 ohm). Also no problem. But 57 goes with low power tube amps easier.
It may worth to try the old 57 instead of the new 9xx series of Quads. I didn't upgraded the 63 to the new series, but back to the old 57, due to 57 was found sonically better than either the 67 or the 9xx.
