I have purchased a pair of Apogee Stage’s. I have a pair of the M60’s that I would like to use on these speakers. The Stage’s, from what I have read, does not fall below 3 ohms. I have a pair of the Zero Autoformers here for an audition. The speakers sound terrible on the 2x and 3x. They sound pretty good on the 4x.I have read the Zero Autoformers web site several times and I guess I just don’t get it. Since the Atma-Sphere are OTL’s, by adding a transformer into the equation, isn’t this defeating the whole reason for the OTL’s in the first place?
If a speaker needs 3 ohms to operate efficiently how can one fool it? I guess the bottom line is, is there a down side in using these, there has to be a down side/compromise with the Zero’s? Help………………..Bob
