Hi Larry:

An early Cardinal--- how lucky for you. The Cardinal remains a true classic fave of mine. Personally I would not touch it. Problem is that once you modify it it is no longer a Cardinal.

If you want to explore new listening avenues or opportunities--- take a look at what new products Gordon has to offer at his website.

If you wanted to DIY an amp we have several of Gordon's public domain circuits and could supply you with schematics for his 6SJ7 based (WE 91 family) 300B single ended as well as his Baby O (SE 2A3) and his Bugle (SE 45).

I've always been particularly fond of his Baby O amp.
