Pursuant to http://www.audioasylum.com/forums/magnequest/messages/7472.html, Mike and I talked today about another couple of conceptual variants on the differential two stage amplifier using a pentode input stage that is connected for partial triode ("Ultralinear") operation. See this and the following post for schematics. The design should be amenable to use of several different pentodes. Mike will comment further.
