Hi John:
I have a pair of Heath W2's which are somewhere in the 15 watt range---
and I am getting in several of the Yaeger audio chassis--- and want to tackle a PP perhaps with four EL-84's per channel UL connected and with an LTP phase splitter up front--- I'm looking for a min of about 30 wpc up to say 50 wpc.
Such power reminds me of the Dynaco Mk VI amps that I had years ago--- 120 wpc--- not the most refined sound ever--- but did they ever have balls and slam--- so I think with some of the approaches and ideas that have germinated over the last ten years or so in the audio community--- my hunch is that PERHAPS it is possible to build a higher power PP amp and get a real healthy dose of refinement and musicality.
I definitely have some ideas of an approach that I would like to try out--- and building and listening is the only way to "test a hypothesis".
