I've been looking at building a pair of 845 PP amps for bottom bi-amp duty and as usually happens when facing any of these related transmitting tubes I'm thinking about 10 volt filament transformers. I've had conversations recently with a few people all bemoaning the lack of choices. One of the first current production fallbacks misses by a mile on quality in my book, NOS can at best be hit or miss and if open frame potentially disastrous. Even then in my case I'd be looking for a quad and I'd want them unused. Hmmmmm........ The "Musician's Amplifier Senior" Sarser and Sprinkle article calls for a a Peerless S-275S output and, interestingly to me, Peerless F-140E 10 volt at 5 Amp filament transformers. You can probably see where I'm heading. Anyone else out there potentially have an interest? I haven't read a lot of followup on the wave of 845 parafeed amps that were threatened a year or so ago. Held up by lack of filament transformers?
