I've been visualizing a low voltage, low power, very portable headphone amp. I've been looking at the CK5088 tube. It looks very linear connected as a triode at 45 V and 1V bias with a 50K ohm load. Power output about 1mW is just fine for my needs.I'm considering UTC's A-11 transformer parafed. The A-11 has 50k secondaries (primaries in my case) and 50/200/500 primaries (secondaries :)) and is rated at 20-20khz @ +5dbm. This transformer is not intended for taking DC voltage or current so it would be parafed.
What plate loading choke is appropraite here? Searching the archives I found a Voltsecond's post thumbing 8 H per KOhm of load. This would get me to 400 H!! Is this right?
Is there an adequate MQ choke?
Thanks a lot,
xavier
