Hello, I have a general question about output transformers.I have built a true ribbon tweeter that has a one ohm (actually .78 ohms) and it sounds wonderful. I'm driving it from the one ohm tap on my McIntosh 7270 amplifier.
Here's the question: if someone else w/out a Mac or similiar wanted to build such a ribbon driver, could Magnequest or some other manufacturer custom-build a suitable transformer (8 ohms to 1 ohm, say) or better yet suggest an off-the-shelf possibility?
If the answer above is yes, what would the cost be?
