RE: BCP-16 GC NI on input tube

In my experience this is a bad place for these. Since they are not shielded and even when I have they pick up way too much noise which when amplified over many stages ends up in big time noise on the output.

If you put them on the output tube the SN ratio is much better and therefore the noise picked up by the grid choke is much less than the signal entering the output tube. So there it's not a problem, but I still put it as far away from the power transformer as possible.
