Guys,Remember the 45 has really lowish plate impedance as compared to the EL84. Just subsituting one for the other would result in a massive loss in capabilities but it really has nothing too do with the EX045.
With the 50K Rp for the El84 it would require much higher PF inductance and and capacitence than the 45 would.
I have used the EXO45's with PX25's and they really rocked out at 6W's without a problem. I also have made PF guitar amps with EL84's and 7591's and they required a ton of inductance and close to 10uF in capacitence before they sounded any good.
