The CD produces a 7.83 Hz tone using two "beat" frequencies of higher frequency, so when listening to the CD via speakers or headphones one hears a medium-high frequency tone.
The CD is intended to be played an hour per day. If one wished to play the CD during listening session, a dedicated player would be req'd. One advantage to the CD is you always know when it's operating. hehe
