I've just completed Bill Woods cast conical Ah!700 horn speaker setup. The setup incorporates the bass half horn. The half horn is intended to be a substitute for a larger true midbass horn, it is not a "bass box." A sub(s) is needed to fill in the last octave and a half or so. I'm also using a tweeter with a simple cap in series.I mentioned stage 1 because Bill is designing other midbass/bass horns that can be used with the Ah! horn. Thus, the horn setup will change (stage 2?) in the future.
Overall, I'm very pleased with the results. I would describe the sound as being very clear, fast and effortless. Full orchestral sounds big without strain and compression (distortion), yet the details and subtleties are present. Now when I listen to "small speakers" they just sound small and compressed.
