Thanks, I was actually hoping to try them full range w/o tweeter first but wasn't sure about how severe a problem the comb filtering might be. I have been questing after a reasonably efficient, cheap, crossoverless design for a couple of months. Seems like the main problem with this idea is low efficiency(?)The current Jordan approach seems designed for high power solid state amps, but is interesting nonetheless. With the small Audax drivers, one could even design a tall (to get correct volume) curved baffle enclosure to place right on the wall, with the drivers mounted towards the inside, much like the enclosures recommended by Jordan, but without the sharp baffle edges.
How important is the large radius for the front baffle? Would a piece of the largest readily available cardboard concrete form (18" ID?) be too much of a compromise?
