Our prior discussion on the Audax HT080M0 got me thinking in this direstion.I'm afraid I'll have to tweak by ear alone since I'm limited to the sound card in my (desktop) PC and shareware for measurements. It does seem like the polar dispersion is "flower" shaped, The level goes up and down as I walk in a circle around it.
Most discussion that I have found on this type of setup is concerned with integrating a tweeter. If I stick to "full" range drivers without crossover, it seems like the major design issues are baffle diffraction and comb filtering due to driver distance varying (which the curve seems to help quite a bit).
Any thought on how wide to make the baffle and how much to offset the drivers from the center? I've thought of curving the edges or making th baffle more triangular, and adding thin side panels similar to Siegfried Linkwitz's Pheonix. I have less time than ideas, though...
Best,
JR
