New tweeter diaphragm - different sound?

I just replaced a broken diaphragm in a Beyma CP25 tweeter.
It seems to have stronger output than the left channel with 10 years old diaphragm.
Is it a case of new versus old and should I replace the second one as well, or did i do something wrong when I installed the new one?

I remember there was a very very small amound of "goo" (rubber celment?) under the phase plug of the original diaphragm. I thought first it was holding the phase plug in place but as it turns out, it's the horn that maintains everything together once it's bolted on the magnet assembly/diaphragm.

I don't hear distortion, it just seems a bit louder and seems to shift the stereo image slightly to the right.
