RE: should relatively large braces in small folded midbass horn have openings?

just 'cause I want the looks of the old S9 and a max depth of 18" - a Belle would be nice but I'm stuck with FH1 which do not run. (prefer Karlson 12 with K-tube on top) - I need to do a partial horn purge so there's room to play with my Karlson stuff. As you know, I had straight midbass horns running 2220H 20 some years ago from Dr. Edgar. One's somewhere in my room, one in a shed - imagine that one's cone is gone by now. John Inlow does have some great looking designs - especially that little 8" B&C horn.
