coax can offer certain advantages over fullrange - typically in bass and also treble powerhere's an interesting K-build in Diyaudio's XKi thread wi6th two inexpensive Dayton PA130 5 inch drivers - if its tuned right, then should have powerful bass - I don't know how the mids fare with a vertically stacked arrangement but there have been several double driver mini Karlsonators made with happy builders.
XRK971's "XKi" approach uses a simplified Akabak bandpass script
my little single PA130 XKi reminds me of a front load horn system and reaches 60Hz well
at $60 (on sale) for four PA130, this represents a lot of performance for less than the cost of two 2-way crossovers
