High Efficiency Speaker Asylum Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place. |

I picked up a very nice Electro-Voice 12TRXG triaxial driver w/ integral x-over in a large vintage tuned oak cabinet.
My idea is to find a vintage Heathkit (or other) mono tube amp and FM tuner or mono tube receiver. I like listening to jazz and classical on FM at bedtime.
I don't have the tube equipment yet but played music from my smart phone with a 10 watt tripath amp for now. This speakers sound beautiful and effortless w/ a deep tight bass that I was surprised to hear.
My only concern is the cabinet is quite large (which I'm sure attributes to it's very fine sound) and doesn't really fit our small bedroom and even smaller quest rooms.
Do you have any comments or ideas about this triaxial driver?
