Your project seems a good one. I don't have experience with the particular Dayton woofer you're using, but I have much experience with the Dayton Audio RSS390HF-4 15" Reference HF Subwoofer 4 Ohm. It too requires a lot of time playing loud thumping bass to break in. Anyone who fails to fully break it in will be disappointed with its performance. Once broken in it is very good. Perhaps that is a characteristic of the brand.
I dream of an America where a chicken can cross the road without having it's motives questioned.
