I've tried a few bullit horns (Fostex, Parts Express, Radio Shack) that weren't overly expensive (The Radio Shack worked best and I think I paid $10 for the pair 12 years ago). The result I got was integrating them proved difficult. Because of their narrow dispersion I had to be right on them to make them sound right. Time aligning them can be difficult too, I found I had to place them behind my Valencias on a stand. I'm sure someone more experienced with crossovers would have a better result.
I never got around to trying it but I did hear a pair with EV T35 or T350 tweeters mounted above the cabinets. It worked well.
Personally I think the 802 driver and some version of the Model 19 crossover is the best way to go.
