I was thinking about starting with a 60 to 90 degree conical horn similar to the Pi midrange horn but maybe a little bigger and longer.

I'm just getting started with this idea and have to get smart on Horn response and the papers Tomservo linked.

I don't want to deal with a phase plug other than a round disk or hemisphere type and with 1.4-1.5" drivers can cross below 1Khz.

The end result I'm hoping for is an 18" threeway with excellent vocal projection and clarity.
