I think 8 watts should be enough, but I would question the bass performance. Way to many SETs have really poor bass performance below 100 Hz. I am a big fan of bi-amping, and that may be something wou want to consider. Get something with a good damping factor and decent low frequency performance for the woofers, and your set for the mids and highs.
