Dwkurfman, thanks for pointing out the xover spec. I looked at the specs carefully and noticed boost control. It could've been on the first time I auditioned. I went to listen again and liked it much more this time. It was against the wall last time. This time I pulled it in the open area. Not sure what exactly caused different impression, but bass was no longer overpowering. Material played was a bit smeared, but that was likely due to MP3 compression and not JBL's fault. Also listened to couple of other powered boxes, so to be continued.Serge
