I have not tried all the subs you propose, I have tried a few Tapped horns and they do sound very good, clean and go pretty low. You would need a high pass at 25 hz, depending on the design, to unload the lowest freq. Be sure to tame cabinet resonances.
A friend has a pair modded Karlson cabinets with 416s on his front horn system and they are pretty good too.
I used to have a pair of Hartsfield Top loaders and the bass was horrible, so just horn loaded is no guarantee, it must be a good design! I am sure all the ones you are looking at are good designs.
