At such low frequencies, the room is a very big player. Rooms are quite difficult to understand, quite different from each other, and quite difficult to treat even when you do have an adequate understanding of the foibles of your particular room.
I would suggest an inexpensive but adequate "starter" sub, followed by extensive experimenting to find the best location(s) and treatment(s). Only then is it worth the effort to find a better sub and amp. You may well find that the bass you seek is not possible in the house you have, in which case spending big bucks trying multiple high-end subs will be a frustrating waste of time that could be better spent listening to good music.
