I've given a link to a site showing excellent looking paper horns.
The cruder method I've tried is:
-Cut a horn throat from thick MDF / ply.
-Put spacers (scrap wood) about 5cm thick onto that throat plate, and mount a thin sheet of ply on the spacers, then more spacers, another sheet of ply etc.
-Each of these thin ply sheets has a circle cut into it, of increasing size, which in totality give the contour of the horn. The paper mache fills the gaps.
It's a nice, quiet way to build a speaker - only a couple of steps with tools / dust. You can make it from scraps and a 3 dollar bag of wallpaper glue.
I had a site with construction pics; some glitch deleted most of the photos, so I've attached is the only one I have left.
When I tried it, I used B&C DE950 drivers with a low, 1st order crossover, and they were fine that way (at home listening levels).
