Hi and yes you are right
I did not think that in the end is the bass section that gives the overall sensitivity ...
so if i have a normal woofer sensitivity will be normal
And of course the high section very attenuated
Let me explain a little my weird looking approach
I am targeting distortion ... i would like to have the least distortion possible but a reasonable price and not fancy speakers like electrostatic ones.
I liked the sound for instance of the Quad but i would never use them
So i think that high eff drivers have a great quality ... as intended to be used for high SPLs, at normal SPLs (like 90dB/2-3 meters) they should have ZERO distortion ... and this is my goal now ... almost no distortion
I am willing to give away the lowest bass under 50 Hz ...
But you are right ... without having the speakers is too early to decide for the amp ... speakers firstSpeaking of speakers i bought two Pyle 3" coil 1.4" throat ...
Beacuse first they wer cheap ... second in the data sheet i see a freq response ok from 500 to 15 kHz ... fantastic
I think i will have to use an active xover because they recommend a 24 dB/octave for using them down to 500 Hz
Then i have just to find a nice woofer for the remaining part ... two actually
I am thinking to look at PA speakers ...
But this thing of the active xover complicates life a lot
I will need two amps ... damn ...
Too early for the amp question ... sorry
Thanks again
Kind regards,
bg
