Home High Efficiency Speaker Asylum

Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

RE: What active crossover are you using?

This is actually a problem with all crossovers, the named types like Butterworth, L&R, Bessel and so on ALL depend on text book flat response and phase unlike real loudspeakers.

If the upper and lower sources are close enough together to actually sum into ONE new radiation (less than ¼ wl separation) then the only solution are adapted shape slopes and those can only be derived by computer.
Then using what is available, one must then fiddle with the slope and eq to get the desired transfer function.

The up side is nearly all hifi speakers (above the subwoofer) have drivers that are far enough apart (more than 1/2 wl) to radiate independently (not as one new source) and so one has more freedom and the object then becomes aiming the main lobe form the interference pattern to be “on axis”
