The main problem there is placing the driver acoustic centers on the same vertical plane. You wouldn't want to do that with the tweeter inside the cab, which leaves mounting it above the midrange driver. But that's if you're going for perfect time align. If you aren't fussy about time align and just want to get the phase right you could put a small sled above the midrange horn and use the quoted procedure to find the right mounting point. Since a 3.5khz wavelength is only about 4 inches that's the maximum amount of placement range required.
