Right now, I'm listening to a mismatched pair of Radio Shack speakers, one is a Minimus 8 (NOT Minimus 7) which has a single driver of Asian manufacture. The other is a Solo-103 which has in it another single driver of Asian manufacture, the Fostex FE-103. Nowadays, the Fostex/Foster FE-103 is a sought-after driver with a cult following. But in the 60's, it was probably just a cheap Japanese speaker in a wooden box. The pair sound pretty good, but nothing to sell your first born over. Personally, I like the Coral manufactured drivers in some Akai speakers better.
And I like the Minimus 7, I have had many pairs over the years, and it was the first "Mini" speaker I heard that truly sounds a lot bigger than it ought to. But when I compare any of the Minimus 7's I've had to a minispeaker like the ADS L200 or the Visonik David, the Minimus 7 loses...
