Knowing so little about "high efficiency" speakers when I showed up here the other day, I'm thankful for all the good information being offered in this thread. Even if it means I'll have to "settle" for something a little less ambitious than my original dream for this portable sound system.In trying to strike a balance between "the best sound I can *dream* up" and somewhat reasonable portability (this is just a laptop computer sound system, after all), I may end up being happy enough with what I have at the moment (can't wait to hear what the new HSU sub will offer when it arrives in a few days!).
Of course, I can always still get the Sophia Baby amp, and gradually build a "second, less portable" computer sound system around that--for use at home during moments when playing the main system isn't convenient (different room, late at night, mixed play lists, etc.).
Thanks again to everyone - I really appreciate your efforts to help me understand the issues involved here! :)
