RE: Large Cones = More Realistic Lower-Mids Tone?

Well, if more cone-surface area is more realistic at lower-mids, then it begs the question: Why are most modern speakers only equipped with single or double small-coned mid-woofers, instead of the more realistic alternative? The 'bottom-line' (profit-margins) seems to be the only obvious reason for this. If so, then audiophiles are being shafted, IMO.

That seems to be the answer, so I guess this may be the end of the thread.
