I have done this, like it, and as I build most of my stuff,
will probably propagate this to the line level realm as well.
The key is that you can run one wire from the the input with
a ring tounge (eyelet) and another from the ourput and put
them in direct contact, so the material of the post, nuts,
and washers is less important as it it not conducting. I
use brass as it is non-inductive, and I'm sure there are
other, less important, concerns such as metal mass, that
may matter. This is a way to get a better contact and save
money.
