RE: The horn is an Edgarhorn Design

hi Steve - Karlson's X15 is imo the way to do things - here's one of mine from around 1966 with a 1.875" ID slotted open-ended waveguide. From what I've seen JEK also used a 1.25" diameter pipe. The first X15's tweeter had a 3" cone driving a little wood Karlson asymmetric-projector. That triangular outline is where someone had nailed screen door molding over screen for a crude grill. Under all those layers of paint is maple-toned laminate. The cabinet is 27.75" x 19.25" x14.25" and built of particleboard. I have a set of later K12 which look similar in build so will assume John Karlson made later units. Those K12 are getting 12" coax with 109oz ferrite magnet slug. A properly loaded Karlson is a punchy and wonderful device and a slotted tube excellent sounding in the range where its small vessel volume will work.
