I would recommend an Altec 32A or 32B horn. This is a compact horn with a right-angle bend. It permits the horn to be mounted on the front panel in the same plane as the woofer. The 32A is aluminum, the 32B is plastic. The horn is rated for 850Hz, but I am using mine with a 1500 Hz xover. The 32 is very smooth and it doesn't ring like the 511 and 811.

I have a similar setup as yours. I have a 414 woofer in a cabinet based on the 614 dimensions, and I'm using the 802-8G in the 32B horn. The crossover has a major effect on the sound quality. I've tried a number of circuits but the one I like most is the one that came with the Altec 9849, which used the same drivers I'm using. The 9849 xover is 1.5K with 12db slopes and it has an impedance stabilizing zobel network for each driver. If you're interested in trying the 9849, you can occasionally find them on ebay. I recently measured the values in mine, and I can send you a copy if you're interested in building one yourself.
