Karlson's first K12 (Karlsonette) in 1954 earlier than the blueprint I once had - this is the model with adjustable damping bar on the back panel, rear shelf and full with single port 15/16" high
Karlson Associates, Inc. Brooklyn, N.Y. "The little 12" Karlson lived up to its preliminary fanfare, in that it appears to have all the response of its 15" brother in a 24" high package. They sound good - both of them. We like the 12" model with Goodmans 22 driver better than the Tannoy 12" or E-V 12TRX, both of which cost twice as much. Lying the 12" enclosure on its back against the wall gives an amazing virtual image about 5 up and behind the wall - the most dispersed and hard- to -locate sound source we've heard yet. Its hard to tell without instruments, but we somehow doubt that the Karlson goes to 16 cycles as claimed. They show up well on percussive sounds, beyond a doubt. We plan to test one soon, though, and settle the question once and for all."
