The People from CAR use the W "coffin back" design, I heard it at RMAF and it sounds pretty good.

I had the "Original Design" top loaders for about 2 years, I did everything possible to them short of cutting them open, I changed Xover points, I biamped, Triamped, unloaded bass under 40 hz, 50 hz, 60 hz which helped, I even added a mid bass driver on top, I added supertweeter, sub woofer and I finally sold them. the bass didnt sound like a "thump", it sounded like a "wumb" wumb wumb very annoying I guess the horn is too long or something, maybe if you fine tune the freq. for it and complete elsewhere it could sound good, "as is" I never liked them. Just my humble opinion.
