I just found a different photo of a later version of the RP-302A. It's installed in a Jensen "Director" Speaker system. You can see that the tweeter is positioned with the mouth oriented horizontally.

Did Jensen not care or not know enough at the time to position it vertically? Any more thoughts about this? Thank you.
