How does that hawthorneaudio 10" coax compare in sound to other pro audio 10"...(in your opinion)?

I don't know of other 94db/w 10" pro audio coaxials with Qts .68 and passive networks that sell for $145...to compare it to.
How it will "sound" is based upon the physics of your implementation and the results you hear. My opinion is irrelevant to this event.

and vintage 10" alnico drivers

I'm usually drunk when I listen to Jukeboxes and my memory as a child of the 50's stereo console we had is all but faded. Possibly from drinking.
So my opinion of said drivers would have to be taken with a grain of salt. Maybe some lime.

Another choice i have is to add another pair of 8" FE206E on the baffle to make and MTM config

Doubling up on the horrific sound and throwing in polar/reverberant field chaos?
Was it Ben Franklin who said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

I actually listen to all kinds of music, including Jazz and Classical

Me too.

So sound quality is of the highest importance, as is the lack of breakup.

??? This is in direct contradiction to every driver you have listed.

I read somewhere about the Hawthorne OB speaker and they (some reviewer) commented that the tweeter or tweeter integration didn't sound so good...

Take my above quote about irrelevance and raise it to the 10th power.

And I do have a good sounding ribbon Fostex tweeter crossed over at 7Khz, 24bd/octave.

A 7khz wavelength is less than 2 inches and do not confuse electronic with electro-acoustic slope. Good luck correlating that with your main driver(s).
But if it sounds good to you...well, my opinion is...:-)

cheers,

AJ
